We think of them as pets with a purpose.

When you buy a kid from from Caney Fork Pygoras, a skein of yarn, or a pile of gorgeous fleece, you can be sure it is coming from a farm where the animals are well-loved, handled daily, and cared for closely to ensure the best lifestock and fiber quality.

This all started because I love to knit.

Years ago, not long after I started knitting, I learned that cashmere comes from goats. That revelation turned into a dream of owning fiber animals, and I got around to it about a decade later. On a hunt for cashmere I ran across a breed called Pygora, which crosses the mohair-producing Angora with the Pygmy, one of several breeds with cashmere down. The plan was to raise my own yarn, but goats are like potato chips. So, now I have enough fleece and yarn to share!

Find us at Fiber Fairs across the eastern U.S.

We love to show off our goats at sanctioned Pygora Breeders Association shows. If we can make the drive in a day, we’ll be there! We have two PBA Permanent Grand Champions at our farm and several of our goats have earned Grand Champion titles.
