She is the grandmother of two champions - our Grand Champion Doe Mary Jane and Grand Champion Wether Jack Daniel who is owned by another farm.</image:caption>

<image:caption>In 2020, we partnered with small Pygora farm Spinner’s Joy and American Angora Goat Breeders Association member farm Pinxterbloom Farm to produce the first registered F2 kids in the Pygora herdbook. This new classification allows us to breed a registered Pygora to an AAGBA-registered Angora for an over-percentage cross. When bred back to our registered Pygora does, Spinner’s Joy Chester produces Pygoras that meet the breed standard, and he adds a new breed line. He has massive, Angora-like Type A fleece.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Caney Fork Pygoras Sirius Lee Black earned his name because at birth he was one of the darkest babies we had ever seen. He won Grand Champion Buck at the 2025 Michigan Fiber Festival and took Reserve Grand Champion Buck at the 2023 and 2024 Michigan events. <image:title>Our Farm - This all started because I love to knit.</image:title>
<image:caption>Years ago, not long after I started knitting, I learned that cashmere comes from goats. That revelation turned into a dream of owning fiber animals, and I got around to it about a decade later. On a hunt for cashmere I ran across a breed called Pygora, which crosses the mohair-producing Angora with the Pygmy, one of several breeds with cashmere down. The plan was to raise my own yarn, but goats are like potato chips. So, now I have enough fleece and yarn to share!</image:caption>

<image:caption>As you can see here, we disbud (dehorn) our goats at 4-6 days old. Disbudding takes place at our local vet office and kids receive a local block to minimize discomfort. Note that both does and bucks have horns in the Pygora breed and bucks in particular can develop very large sets of horns. For any fellow PBA breeders who prefer horns left on, we can make special arrangements to leave horns intact.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Also from Mountain Meadow Farm Violet and Caney Fork Pygoras Carlos Jackson came this tiny, spunky doeling, weighing in at 3 pounds and 14 ounces. Her name was obvious - Pi. We had to do a lineage check to figure out where that brown caramel came from, and it looks to be inherited from her maternal grandfather, Hawks Mountain Ranch Abramo, who fleeced out a lovely medium caramel. She was sold, along with Ernest, to a New England Farm.</image:caption>
